Personal Wealth - Manual Data

With the Personal Wealth options in Spotlight Reporting, you can report on your clients’ personal assets, outgoings and investments.  You can create standalone reports, or combine the new information with existing financial reports to give a full picture of your clients' financial position.

Note: You can also import data for the Personal Wealth reporting in Spotlight by using the Excel import option.

To add the Personal Wealth data source

  1. From the Import tab, click Personal Wealth. Alternatively, if you’ve previously added a different data source, click Add Another Data Source then click Personal Wealth (Manual).
  2. To go to the data grid, click Enter Data

To enter the data

The tabs available

There are six tabs available within the Personal Wealth data source:

  • Inflows - Inflows received in each month. Values in this tab should be the monthly values.
  • Outflows - Outgoings in each month. Values in this tab should be the monthly values.
  • Assets - Assets owned, for example vehicles or property, excluding bank accounts.  Values in this tab should be cumulative balances.
  • Bank - Any bank accounts held.  Values in this tab should be cumulative balances.
  • Liabilities - For example any loan values. Values in this tab should be cumulative balances.
  • KPIs/Targets - For asset and liability accounts, these should be cumulative values, and for inflow and outflow accounts these should be month end values.

To create a new account

While some default accounts are provided, if you need to, you can also create your own.

  1. In the Customise Data tab, ensure that the Personal Wealth data source is selected.
  2. Open the required tab and underneath the data grid, click Add Account.
  3. Enter the name and category for the account, then click Save.

To edit an account name or category

  1. In the Customise Data tab, ensure that the Personal Wealth data source is selected.
  2. Open the required tab and click the account name, then edit the name and category as required.
  3. To save the changes, click Save.

To delete an account

Note: You cannot reverse this process.  All values entered for the account are also deleted.

  1. In the Customise Data tab, ensure that the Personal Wealth data source is selected.
  2. Open the required tab and click the account name, then click Delete.
  3. To confirm, click Delete again.

Entering data

Note: If you need to enter data for a previous year, select the required year from the Financial Year drop-down list.

  1. In the Customise Data tab, ensure that the Personal Wealth data source is selected.
  2. In each tab, for the months up to and including the current month, enter the actuals values.
  3. If required, in the yellow (budget) cells for future months, enter the budget values.
